I first worked with Sarah when she was the maid of honor in her best friends wedding that I was photographing last fall! I knew right away she would be fun to work with & she didn’t disappoint! Sarah & Mike met in Kalamazoo, where Sarah asked Mike out for the first time. These two joked about it in their vows & so did Mike’s brother in his best man speech! Mike proposed with an adorable dog collar he put on their dog-son Walter that asked “Will you marry my dad?”

I knew after their engagement session that these two were super laid back & everything a wedding photographer asks for in a couple they’ll be working with! This was put to the test when their outdoor ceremony that was set to take place at a beautiful gazebo had to be moved last minute, thanks to lovely Michigan weather. These two handled it like total champs, knowing that the real reason that they were there was to become Mr. & Mrs. and rain or shine, that would still happen!

The rain slowed to a sprinkle just after their ceremony & we were able to sneak outside for a few bridal party portraits and then, my favorite, bride & groom portraits. Through all of the itinerary changes & unplanned hiccups, these two were still full of smiles. Everything from their decor to their dinner was absolutely perfect. I can’t think of a couple who I would have rather kick started my 2017 wedding season with!
